Gill’s remarkable start to his ODI career has also seen him break Amla’s record of being the quickest to 1500 (29 innings) and 2000 ODI (38 innings) runs. The 25-year-old will look to become the fastest to 3000 ODI runs. The record also belongs to Amla, who took 57 innings, meaning Gill has six innings to reach the milestone to set the outright world record.
Shubman Gill Achieves Rare Feat
Gill completed his 7th ODI century, meaning he has a century in all three formats of international cricket in Ahmedabad as well as three centuries in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the venue. The Indian vice-captain is the first player in history to have a Test, ODI, and Test, and IPL century at the same ground. He is only the fifth player and first from India to score an international ton in all formats at the same ground.
